Tootie Frootie - Little Richard
Tutti Frutti
Little Richard
The name "Tutti Frutti" was not created with the song. Tutti Frutti is actually a type of tropical fruit ice cream. I went to a hole-in-the-wall ice cream shop and they still had tutti frutti. It has mixed fruit like pineapple, cherry, and banana in it and it's really good. It's almost like you get a surprise in every bite, kinda like this song. It starts with scat-like singing, and this is scattered all throughout the song as well. It has a very upbeat sound and there is a piano riff in the background that reminds me of an old-school jukebox song. There are also drums as well that rely mostly on the cymbals, so that is prominently heard in the song. A saxophone shows up near the end of the song which was fitting to the theme as it was upbeat. The actual lyrics are mostly repeated but he talks about a couple of girls that drive him "almost" crazy. I can’t tell whether he means it as a good or bad thing, but he does say that they know how to love, so I'm guessing it is good. I think he is talking more about passion than actual craziness. Overall, I really do like the song and I think that the title is definitely fitting to the song.
I love the tutti frutti story that you added into this blog and how you tied it in so well with the song. I Love the piano riff of the song as well I think the instruments in the song are and the tempo of them give an upbeat to the for sure. The lyrics are for sure repeated a lot in this song. It was Tutti Frutti many many time the title really fits well. I really enjoyed this blog and song.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard about this ice cream, so I would have never guess that this song was relating to something such as ice cream. I would assume that when he says they make him crazy, he means, like you said, that it is passion rather than actual craziness. I also would agree that it sounds like a jukebox song.
